Google Cardboard

What is Google Cardboard?

Google Cardboard is an invention made by google. It is made out of cardboard and was made to make a phone screen specifically an android screen become virtual and 3D. Google Cardboard is a cardboard version of goggles that have lenses which make it seem as if you are in that environment with all its surroundings.

How does it work?

Google Cardboard works like glasses except you hold it up to your eyes. You put your android phone in the slot that opens and is held with the velcro. You open the Google Cardboard app or open a photo on your phone and let the glasses do the rest. If you open the app and try to select,  you  use the magnet on the left side of the glasses, pull it down then release. How? Well google has very intelligent application to add this accessory.  By releasing the magnet on the outside it clicks the magnet on the inside which is at the top.  When a click sound is heard on the phone it thereby letting you select whatever you want.

What is it made out of?

Google Cardboard is well made out of Cardboard. Although there are other parts such as the lens and the magnets and the velcro on top, it is a ready made invention which you fold up and there you have it, your very own Google Cardboard.

Copyright

Copyright:

Copyright is the law that protects people’s original work, if not followed you could face $10,000 and two years in prison.

If you want to use some phrase or want to take some words from a website or even a picture from a book or the internet or even music from youtube you have to put down these things:

  • The name of the person who said it or who originally made it
  • The name of the place where you found it like a book or a quote etc
  • The year it was made or discovered etc
  • The source of where you got it like the website link etc
  • And last but not least the publisher of the photo or quote etc

For example you wouldn't take something that isn't yours, would you? Take it like this if you were in school or at work and you saw something that you really like that belongs to somebody you don’t know you wouldn’t just walk up to it and take it, right? Copyright is a serious matter now in 2015, if you copyright something it is called plagiarism. What is plagiarism? Well plagiarism is when you take somebody’s words or work and try to make it your own, this is copyright and that is why it is illegal! Copyright is ILLEGAL! Don’t perform copyright because it is against the law and it is taking other people’s ideas that they came up with themselves! Copyright is wrong, so if you want to take a picture from the internet or use a song from youtube you must put down the resource of where you got it or if you want to download or use a song from youtube you must contact the owner or the publisher of the video or the owner of the song!

Donkey Google Presentation on adaptation

I learnt about donkeys with my partner Amy and we made a Google Presentation on it.

The early Polynesians

How the early Polynesians adapted to their new country

Food:  When the Polynesians came they ate some food that they brought with them but they needed to find more, they had to find some similar foods.

The Polynesians couldn’t grow all the things they had before because the cooler climate stopped them from growing. So they learnt how to grow some foods such as kumara and gourds underground.

Fishing and Hunting: The Polynesians wanted to get some meat so they started to think, then they got it. They started to get to work, they made a noose. It was a rope that they would tie around the moa’s neck and it would strangle it and then it would die. So then they would have plenty of meat and flesh and protein that it would last them about a day because they only took off the legs ( the nice juicy parts ) and ate that. Then they would leave the rest to rot on the ground. They killed heaps of moas a day,  but they left the bones and the skeletons for their dogs to bite on.
