Charlie and The Chocolate Factory Book Review

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

This book is about a young boy named Charlie Bucket, who lives in a tiny house with 6 people. Although his family are poor, they try their hardest to provide for him. He lives with his mum, dad, two grandparents from his mum’s side and two grandparents from his dad’s side. In their house, they only have one bed, which the four grandparents use. Charlie, his mum and his dad sleep on a mattress on the ground. One day Charlie finds out that there are five golden tickets hidden in five very special Wonka Chocolate bars. Charlie longs to find one when he hears that the prize is to meet Willy Wonka and a lifetime supply of confectionary. His Grandpa Joe usually told him stories about Willy Wonka and his factory. When he finds out that four tickets have already been found, he knows that his chances of finding one are near to being impossible. Eventually, Charlie finds some money and buys a Wonka Bar, to find that he had found the last golden ticket!

My favourite characters in this book are all of Charlie’s grandparents. I recommend this book to ages 8 and over and think people will really like it!
