Beauty & the Beast
Have you ever seen the fairy-tale Beauty and the Beast live theatre? Well on Friday the 9th of May, Christ the King Catholic school went to the Vodafone Event Centre to watch the Sancta Maria College perform the Disney version of “Beauty and the Beast”.
The back story was that there was a prince who was selfish, cruel and mean. One night an old woman came with a magical rose to his door and asked him for shelter, but he was so self-centred that he refused. Suddenly she started to melt into a beautiful girl and the rose had transformed him into a hideous beast. He tried to take it back but he couldn’t. Years later he fell in love with a beautiful girl named belle and tries to win her heart in order to break the curse before all the petals on the magic rose fall off, but she also has to love him back before its too late.
The actors were Beauty(Belle): Olivia Brown, Beast:Roman Bennett, Gaston:Elijay Florendo, Lumier:Matthew Laguda, Cogsworth:Connor Farrell, Mrs Potts:Keelin Weekly, Babette:Tayla Sloan and Chip:Aidan van Heerden. All their acting was very convincing. They could have had more props to make it feel like you were actually in the place.
