My Writing Sample

As I look to my right, I see hills from a distance, far away with a little farm on it, with stacks of hay next to it and a large fence guarding it like a dozen of knights guarding a castle. I look down to see fields and fields of dead grass laying in the hot summers sun, turning from green to brown, almost looking like hay.

The sounds of a motorcycles zoom draws my attention to the back of me , I turn around to see a little girl on a mini bike who was racing around on a dirt track , jump up into the air, bouncing off a bump in the ground. She tenses and I see her clench on tight to the handles of her bike. I feel both fear and excitement at the same time. In my mind I’m thinking all kinds of things like, “Will she make it?” “What if she falls?” “She can do it!” “Or will she end up in hospital?” I bet she’s thinking the same things. My heart is racing, it beats faster every second. I wonder if the man across of her is feeling scared for her, or if he will be impressed if she makes it? I stare at her in amazement, and feel speechless!!!

I feel glad that kids are allowed to race mini bikes these days and are allowed to use high tech vehicles!!!

Matariki

Matariki

It is very dark, and all I feel is sand. Suddenly I see  the fires already lit, then I see my relatives sitting by the fire. Next thing I know I hear my grandpa yell out to me “Quickly, or you’ll have to wait another year to see the Matariki stars!”

I scurry through the soft smooth sand to search the sky for the special seven stars, looking up at the night sky. Then, I feel that my feet are wet, then I look down to find myself in the freezing cold water. So I ran to warm myself up near the flickering fire. I gaze into it, looking at all the wonderful colours, then it just occurs to me that it looks like millions of tiny beautiful rubies and ambers.
Then aunty Crystal calls out to everyone, “ Everyone look up, their finally here!!!”

Cookies

Cookies
Author: Jacqueline Wilson
Rating: **** stars
Favourite characters: Beauty Cookson

What is it about?
Cookies is about Beauty Cookson, and how she puts up with unsupported bullying at her school, and not just teasing and pushing, worse than that!!! Also how she and her loving and caring mother fight their way through Beauty’s father's hurtful criticism to both of them. They live in an uneasy fear of her fathers blazing rage, frightened whenever they disobey one of his discriminating house rules.

Reconmendation: I recomend this book to young mature readers who love interesting books.
